VCD#1637 Feng Zhi Qiang This VCD acts as a survey of the achievement of one of the best practitioners in mainland China: Feng Zhi Qiang. Feng was the student of Chen Fa Ke and Yu Zhao Ho, both major figures in their respective areas. This disk is not instructional but there are many parts with Feng showing and explaining his Chen Tai Chi, sword, saber and, most importantly, some in depth showing of the Tai Chi Ruler exercises which he developed and is now one of the best and most comprehensive ruler forms available (see our new book in both English and Chinese by one of Feng’s major disciples showing his teacher’s rule method). The survey covers a large span of time with Feng appearing different in separate sections. It also shows the influence of his Hun Yun approach with his distinctive movements and style. He speaks on specific topics like Song (relaxation during Fa Chin) practicing with and without proper concentration and other details from his personal experience as long time practitioner and teacher. In the second disk Feng Sifu demonstrates fully empty hand Tai Chi, Saber and Sword with numerous details on what people do wrong and why these points or technique are significant. A Double Disk. |

Hun Yuan
Tai Chi Chan Zi Gong There are only a handful of principles, but profound ones, that truly can be said to "make Kung Fu Kung Fu." In other words such practices as Opening and Closing are absolutely essential to a Chinese system of authentic Kung Fu. One of these principles is Chan Zi Jin also known as Reeling Silk energy. Here is Master Feng Zhi Qiang's methods of developing this fundamental feeling. The movements look natural but there are also sophisticated and highly concentrated in concept and execution. One of the better presentation for a series of actions which are health oriented but also sources of martial refinement.

Chen Shi Tai Chi Hun Yuan Xing Yi is the name of Feng ZhiQiang's style. Here he demonstrates his sword. Although an older player he is still very skilled. His sword has a "bite" to it and definitely emphasizes jing training over beauty. Breakdown is clear and to the point (no pun intended). A complex and interesting set. Subtitles and title cards are given in English.
