There are said to be five family fists for the Northern styles of Kung Fu: Pao, Wah, Hua, Cha and Hong. The last is also known as Shaolin. So here we have representatives of two of the five major fists. The first of these is a famous though now rarely taught sequence of extreme stretches originally designed for acolytes at the Shaolin Temple. If contortionists make you twitch, and joints creating odd angles makes you wince, you might pass on this one. In addition is the most famous set from a very famous style, Cha Quan or Muslim boxing. Both of these are in English and Chinese with an accompanying VCD; part of our “en face” series.
