Written by Chen Zhen Lei, translated and edited by Jack Yan, this new set of books adds significantly to the Chen English canon. Not only does it cover five sets— 18 movement and sets #1 & 2 in both old and new frames— but it is replete with well-written exposition on the principles, practice and Chinese medical theory related to Tai Chi. Chen demonstrates everything himself. Chen, among the lineage holders, seems to have taken on the largest literary responsibility for documenting the style. This type of documentation is what we would have wanted from the old masters. We are gifted to have somebody in his position doing work like this.
