For those reporting any difficulties playing either VCDs or certain DVDs on their computers, this program (VLC) and at least one of these three methods below should solve 99.99% of the problems. Even the most skeptical have written back with happy and successful reports!

VLC can be obtained free from http://www.videolan.org. It is non-commercial, ad-free, virus-free, and will work on Macs and PCs.

From one of our success customers:

"I have found THREE different methods that work with VLC; some work when others don't. Why? Who knows! Here they are:

Method One
1. Insert DVD (do not choose to open it yet)
2. Open VLC program
3. Choose OPEN Disc (under File Menu)
4. Choose OPEN (lower right corner)

That should open the disk.

Method Two
1.
Insert DVD (do not choose to open it yet)
2.
Open VLC program
3. Choose OPEN FILE (under File Menu)
4. Navigate to DVD (under Devices, if you are using a MAC, in your Open File dialogue box)
5. Highlight DVD
6. Choose OPEN (lower right corner)

Method Three
1. Insert DVD (do not choose to open it yet)
2. Open VLC program
3. Choose ADVANCED OPEN FILE (under File Menu)
4. Highlight the FILE tab, and then, to the right of CHOOSE A FILE, hit BROWSE
5. Highlight DVD (or Video_TS)
6. Choose OPEN (lower right corner)"
