YUAN GONG QUAN Ape Movement Boxing
Overall aspects of this style:
This is an unusual style that obviously patterns its forms after its direct usage. The basis of this style is a series of 12 "root" forms which can obviously be practiced one right after the other. Each one is roughly the equivalent of two "roads" with about fifteen to twenty movements in each road and some moves repeated. Applications are shown for many movements. The actions imitate an ape but not theatrically, more in usage. The fighting is organic and unpolished and in its energetic issuance of power somewhat resembles Tong Bei or Pi Gua, somewhat Baji and not a little unlike Yi Quan. Loss arms count and the back is curved and extended with the chest sunken. To our eyes an interesting and historical style which may not look very pretty. A few surprises in usage. Liu Guo Hua is an older practitioner still with a lot of pepper.

Yuang Gong 's Rolling Splitting Real Strikes. This is a middle level form of the Yuan Gong style. It is fierce and uses proper strength for its intermediate applications which are shown on the disk. More sophisticated than the twelve roads it intermixes many skills of the system. In some aspects, while lighter and softer, it bears some resemblance to Baji and other explosive, relatively direct styles.
