DAI Style Xin Yi Boxing Dai Family is a major grouping, and an old one, in the field of Xing Yi (Hsing I) Boxing. One version of its history has Ji Long Feng teaching Cao Ji Wu who in turn teaches two brothers: Dai Long Bang and Dai Lin Bang. Dai Long Bang in particular developed the art, wrote about it and passed it on to the famous Li Luo Neng, one of the Qing Dynasty's most influential practitioners. VCD#1257 Five
Element Boxing It all starts here. Dai Style is a popular form of Xing Yi. This demonstration is a clear introduction to the most basic and essential of Xing Yi forms, the Five Elements. Each branch has a similar beginning form but, we would assume, if you want the special characteristics of, say, Dai Style San Ti Branch then this is a good place to start. Slight demonstration of the usage just to show each of the five basic strikes. |

VCD#1258 Five
Element Linked Boxing The second stage of training in this Dai Style Xing Yi series is to take the five elements and mix them. This is probably the most famous and well known combined movement set of the Xing Yi system, regardless of branch. The elemental movements are linked together in combinations showing their versatility and speed. Usage is more detailed than the first VCD with some tactics and combinations show. |

VCD#1259 San
Ti Style 6 Harmony Legs More kicking than some XY practitioners have seen in their whole careers. This set is not ENTIRELY legs and has many hand movements (this for those literalists out there). Teacher Xiao not only manages to demonstrate concurrent steps with hand motions, and enough kicks to actually resemble Chuo Jiao kicking patterns at times, but he also shows some of Xing Yi's distinct flavor of light and firm quickness with his leg actions. Much usage of varying complexity is shown at the end of the VCD. |

VCD#1260 San
Ti 81 Manners This complex form combines the five elements along with the actions derived from the phoenix, monkey swallow, hawk and hammering movements. Many movements, charging actions with multiple running steps, some quick changes of character and tempo. This is a complex and interesting that, to the advanced or intermediate practitioner, will always present a challenge and great showing of skill. No usage is shown because this one VCD runs over sixty minutes to accommodate the entire form. |

VCD#1261 Five
Element Paired Boxing The first and a very straight forward two person fighting set. To our eyes Xing Yi has some of the most efficient and clearly explicated of two person sets along with one of our old favorites, 24 Beats. The thing here is to remember the shown application is only one of the many possible uses for the technique demonstrated. But at least with these sets the usage shown is applicable. Many technical points are illuminated in the explanation. |

VCD#1262 An
Shen Pao Duet Boxing An Shen Pao is a set levels above the mixed element two person form. There are many in fighting techniques, some kicks, much double blocking and even the occasional stop-hit. Grabbing techniques are also prominent. There is a still the Dang Da aspect of block and then hit but this is often used as a timing device and can slowly be eliminated from the exercise. We can't say that Teacher Xiao's assistant, though speedy, gives his greatest performance but Xiao is there and aware all the time. Definitely a more advanced two person set and a well known one in Xing Yi circles. |

VCD#1263 Five
Element Spear This is Xing Yi therefore this is a WORKING spear set. Teacher Xiao doesn't go in for a flimsy weapon but a fairly substantial wax wood instrument. Strong and simple Xing Yi spear action with some applications shown at the end against a student. As always in the case of Xing Yi spear, solid and simple does the trick. |

VCD#1264 Five
Element Saber Teacher Xiao in this case shows form with a rare short bladed, thick width hacking version of the saber. This is very appropriate to the actions of the form. At the end he shows usage against other bladed and non bladed weapons with both the hacking version and the longer version resembling a swallow tail saber. |
