First,
be advised that all of these VCD's are IN
CHINESE ONLY . In our opinion that doesn't matter much
because the instruction is clear and the quality of photography
very good. But we will not accept returns just because people didn't
read... IN CHINESE ONLY . Given that, these are really tremendous
deals for the money. Each of these special VCD's can be played on
a computer for full enjoyment. Made for PC's they are also Mac compatible
by downloading Quicktime (for free) and any similar VCD player program.
Also playable on most DVD players. For less than $10.00? Wow! |
WU (Hao)
Style TAI CHI
Wu (Hao) was created by Wu Yu Xiang (1812-1880). He learned his Taiji from Chen Qing Ping, (1795-1868) of Zhaobao Village, Wen County, Henan province. Not only did he create the Wu style but also the 13 Taiji Spear (staff), 13 Taiji Saber, and "lively footwork" push hand applications. He taught his art to his nephew, Li Yi Yu (1832-1892). Li taught Mr. Hao Wei Zhang (1849-1920). Also the famous Xingyi and Baqua stylist, Sun-Lu Tang studied this form and then created his Sun Style Taijiquan. A Chinese Muslim scholar and businessman by the name of Mr. Li Shen Duan studied from Hao Wei Zheng. Li Shen Duan passed the art to many students the most famous being Chen Gu An, and Wu Wen Han. Jimmy Wong of Texas studied from both these gentlemen and is quite expert himself in Push Hands and Lion Dance as well as being the president of Chinwoo in America.

WU
Style TAI CHI (out of print)
This series is with Gao Zhuang Fei a student of the well known boxer Wang Pei Sheng and other famous Wu stylist Yang Yu Ting. This is the style developed originally by Wu Quan You then passed to Wang Mao Zhai. It is highly compact with relatively short steps and a distinctive "leaning" body posture that seems, at first glance, to contradict the Tai Chi Classics. This rendition of the set is one of the best we have seen recently with very refined motion, highly controlled actions and excellent balance of Yin and Yang. If you are interested in this style we consider this a good representative.
