First,
be advised that all of these VCD's are IN
CHINESE ONLY. In our opinion that doesn't matter much
because the instruction is clear and the quality of photography
very good. But we will not accept returns just because people didn't
read... IN CHINESE ONLY. Given
that, these are really tremendous deals for the money. Each of these
special VCD's can be played on a computer for full enjoyment. Made
for PC's they are also Mac compatible by downloading Quicktime (for
free) and any similar VCD player program. Also playable on most
DVD players. For less than $10.00? Wow!

HUA
Boxing (Glorious or China Boxing)
Hua Boxing is associated with Hua Shan a mountain in Shaan Xi province.
Hua Shan is one of the four major martial arts mountains in Chinese
history: Song Shan (Shaolin), Er Mei, Wu Tang and Hua Shan. Like
the other "mountain" styles Hua has had many influences
and is more obviously an amalgamation of many fists, rather than
one. A highly sophisticated style with many, many sets the old saying
went that if you knew "the Hua 48 sets, you could go anywhere
under Heaven."
Demonstrator:
He Jun Lan.

Fist First Road Hua Quan
Three

See Main VCD page for prices, CHINESE ONLY
Number
One Road of the Hua style, like the Northern Shaolin, is considered
an advanced, not a basic set. This is one of the fuller Long Fist
forms you will see. True, the arms are hyperextended but this is
a traditional Hua form that just shows how exquisite Long Fist is,
evern without "modernization." not for those with wobbly
knees. Not over challenging physically but long and with a few tornado
kicks, sweeps, etc. Three

Fist Double Daggers

Double
daggers (Bi Shou) are for the agile and the quick. We like the weapon
and this is a good set. Daggers like this were often kept in the
boots and drawn out by their rings at the butt end: therefore also
known as Ring Daggers. A very nice performance comparable to most
of the forms with this set but a little more meat. Double
VCDs.

Fist Hua Sword
Double
VCD ,
See Main VCD page for prices, CHINESE ONLY
The
straight sword is wonderfully demonstrative of the characteristics
of the Chinese people: agile, subtle, graceful and intelligent.
This is a nice set with a lot of single leg standing in many variations.
But that's also the problem. The same young person who looks great
doing, say, the staff is a bit of a wash out with the sword only
because it takes so much time to master. Really though, a very pleasant
and attractive form that almost crosses the line to performance
but does retain its content. This
is a double VCD

Fist 8 Step Linked Fist
About
1 Hour,
See Main VCD page for prices, CHINESE ONLY
Compared
to road #1 this is a very basic but still flavorful fist. The general
execution bares the relationship to the other forms as Luo Han forms
do to Shaolin: rougher and more direct. Comparable to Lien Bu or
Gung Li Chuan. Very nice, perfect for young people. Solid and basic
but with a few flashy Hus moves. Easily learnable.

Fist 8 Step Linked Duet
About
1 Hour,

The
previous single person set is here shown as a duet. Representative
Long Arm partner play combining long strikes, kicks and some Chin
Nah. Fun and relatively simple. About intermediate level.

Fist Luo Han 18 Hands
About
1 Hour,
See Main VCD page for prices, CHINESE ONLY
Hua
seems to like single/duet sets just as is popular in, for example,
Heaven Mountain Style. This is a realitvely short, single person
version that looks like a two person set performed alone. Easy to
learn, clear and definitely Long Fist.

Fist 18 Hands Duet
About 1 Hour, See Main VCD page for prices,
CHINESE ONLY
The
two person version of the above 18 Luo Han Hands. The movements
are straight forward with a few basic Chin Nah, some Long Fist strikes,
a sweep and even some off-angle work. Basic but not theatrical.
Excellent set for young people and for beginning to intermediate
level work. A mixture of reasonable tactics and some just for show.
Good solid intruction and performances, though.
