First, be advised that all of these VCD's are IN CHINESE ONLY. In our opinion that doesn't matter much because the instruction is clear and the quality of photography very good. But we will not accept returns just because people didn't read... IN CHINESE ONLY. Given that, these are really tremendous deals for the money. Each of these special VCD's can be played on a computer for full enjoyment. Made for PC's they are also Mac compatible by downloading Quicktime (for free) and any similar VCD player program. Also playable on most DVD players. For less than $10.00? Wow!

Wu Tai Chi Practice with Wang Pei ShengVCD#1118 Wu Style Tai Chi Useful Exercises
Double VCD, Price for this Double VCD: $17.95, Chinese Only

Quantity

This is a very interesting VCD but mostly lecture. Wang Pei Sheng was very well versed in his knowledge of accupuncture points, physics, physiology and other topics related to the arts. When he taught he would often explain not only the appropriate point alignment but the feelings the practitioner should have (ache here, twist there, etc.). This is a long lecture demonstration on these points. NOTE: These VCDs are taken from rare film footage and in this one there is at times some ambient sound which some might find annoying. A Double VCD.

VCD#1119 Tai Chi His 37 Movement Set
A Triple VCD, Price for this triple VCD: $24.95, Chinese Only

Quantity

In our opinion a Wu Style Tai Chi demonstration of high caliber. Teacher Wang's movements are highly controlled, precise, elongated, intense and determined. You can see the Reeling Silk energy in a style that is often difficult to read. This is a good presentation. In the third VCD Wang addresses key points with a student watching basically going through the set and verbally showing essentials. Important information.

A very long series on Wang Pei Sheng's Chi Kung style exercises. The first two of these three vcds are all lecture showing the relation of points, posture and the Chinese characters represeting them. As with all his work, Wang is the consumate martial professional showing a keen intelligence in his work and selections. He goes into quite a bit of detail about his theories and observations. Wu Tai Chi Saber with Wang Pei ShengVCD#1208 Wu Style Tai Chi Saber
About an Hour, Price for this VCD: $9.95, Chinese Only

The weapon here is a little different from the typical Willow Leaf Saber most people employ for practice. Here it is a longer, straight weapon with a more even width and less tapering. It has a large ring at the butt end which can be used for two handed manipulations. The set is longish, very solid with the precision and expertise Wang's work is known for. Nice explanations of requirements at beginning.

VCD#1209 Wu Style Tai Chi Sword
A Triple VCD. Price for this triple VCD: $24.95, Chinese Only

Without a doubt one of the longest, most complex, most thorough straight sword sets we have seen in decades of watching the art. Just the initial demonstration takes up almost the entire first disk. Then Wang Shihfu shows the breakdowns with comments on the sword. There are a number of sections when he uses the extra length, tasseled weapon in a two handed manner. This would be a bit of an undertaking if you wanted to learn the set.

VCD#1210 Wu Style Tai Chi Spear
A Double VCD. Price for this double VCD: $17.95, Chinese Only

Quantity

Almost unbelievable nowadays! Wang Pei Sheng actually understands the spear and knows how it works. Besides prancing around like a teenager, this complex, long set show a skill with the weapon that far surpasses most of the "champions." China grinds out like Lop Chung (pardon our Cantonese). The beginning of the section has a long discussion with an interviewer about Tai Chi's basic principles. Want to see how a spear works? Here it is. That's notmentioning the distinct usage of the weapon with an unusual amount of the actions taken with the spear gripped up by the head: one of the real secrets of usage to our mind.
