First, be advised that all of these VCD's are IN CHINESE ONLY. In our opinion that doesn't matter much because the instruction is clear and the quality of photography very good. But we will not accept returns just because people didn't read... IN CHINESE ONLY. Given that, these are really tremendous deals for the money. Each of these special VCD's can be played on a computer for full enjoyment. Made for PC's they are also Mac compatible by downloading Quicktime (for free) and any similar VCD player program. Also playable on most DVD players. For less than $10.00? Wow!

Lu Shan WuDang Sect

Lu Shan (Lu Mountain) is one of the Wu Dang range. This group specializes in so-called Internal Styles and this small series covers them all. The BaGua is particularly flavorful and even fancy. But no one could deny that there is some skill, speed and flexibility shown by the performer. Flying Dragon Sword and the San Feng Tai Chi are of particular interest. There are no applications per se and no survey.

Demonstrator: Wang Ping, 26th generation inheritor.

A very respectable BaGua Zhang. Good stepping is the first thing one notices. Clear movements. A solid representation of a Wu Dang version of BaGua that is neither fanciful nor weak as some are.
Double VCD.

Lu Shan Taoist Kung Fu San Feng Tai ChiVCD#631 Lu Shan Sect San Feng Tai Chi
Triple VCDs , VCD pricing, Chinese Only

San Feng, Three Treasures, refers to Chang San-Feng, supposed Taoist creator of Tai Chi. This is a complex, sophisticated, long and involved set. It takes about seven minutes at breakneck speed. Fa Jin, much BaGua, flowing hands. You think there's nothing of the Tai Chi you are familiar with but then, like your cousins in a crowd, you recognize movements. A perfect example of how ridiculous the "numbered" sets of Tai Chi are. How many moves here? 283? 345? 1029? A lot.

Lu Shan Taoist Kung Fu Flying SwordVCD#632 Lu Shan Sect BaGua Flying Dragon Sword
Double VCDs , VCD pricing, Chinese Only

This one REALLY lives up to its name. One of the fanciest and most challenging of the BaGua straight sword sets we've seen. Much twisting, fast footwork, back bends, reverse hand work. They left out the kitchen sink because they didn't have enough room. The demonstrator is skilled and the moves clear but definitely not an easy one to "pick up" from a disk.
Double VCD.

Lu Shan Taoist Kung Fu 13 Method SwordVCD#633 Lu Shan Sect 13 Method Sword
Double VCDs , VCD pricing, Chinese Only
Quantity

No relation to the famous Yang style sword. This is a Wu Dang 13 method sword. A double handed weapon in this case the straight sword is extra-long though it could be performed with a normal sized weapon. Much movement, fluid, spinning. We think that, in general, Wu Dang excels at straight sword more than any other weapon.
This is a Double VCD.

About 1 Hour, VCD pricing, Chinese Only

Here is a relatively straight forward rendition of Xing Yi Five Elements boxing in what we would say is the general Hebei style. Wang Ping is the 26th generation of Lu Shan Wu Dang Chang San Feng Ziran Pai. Though there are some slightly different angles this version of the linking form should be understandable to anyone with Xing Yi experience. Though there are no applications shown the break down of the movement is straight forward and clear. The “Wu Dang” aspect is evidenced more in the instructions about intent and movement of the qi.
