First,
be advised that all of these VCD's are IN
CHINESE ONLY. In our opinion that doesn't matter much
because the instruction is clear and the quality of photography
very good. But we will not accept returns just because people didn't
read... IN CHINESE ONLY. Given
that, these are really tremendous deals for the money. Each of these
special VCD's can be played on a computer for full enjoyment. Made
for PC's they are also Mac compatible by downloading Quick time (for
free) and any similar VCD player program. Also playable on most
DVD players. For less than $10.00? Wow!

DI
TANG Ground Boxing 地趟
Di
Tang is a famous style that specializes in "ground techniques"
which require a certain skill for rolling and falling. Di Tang often
employs kicks, trips and sweeps from the ground. It may roll or
drop suddenly then perform a "flower" with the legs spinning
and the arms twirling while in the prone position. It is an old
form of traditional Kung Fu and is related to what some call "Dog
Boxing."

There
are some things you don't do in classical Kung Fu. One of them is
ground rolling with a straight sword where the body rolls OVER the
swords. The reason for this is obvious. We have judged many performers
in tournaments who converted a ground rolling saber into a straight
sword set and lost points by not knowing the rules for each weapon.
This straight sword shows ground usage without violating these rules.
Wide sweeping actions, and body flips but essentially accurate Kung
Fu usage. A

Ground Spinning Sabers is not that uncommon. But single is. Of course
since this is the famous Di Tang boxing we can expect all of the
weapons to be performed on the ground. A nice, rolling set with
a good percentage of ground work. Basically form instruction only
with teaching break downs. A

The
boxing form associated with one of the most famous ground fighting
styles and a guaranteed audience pleaser. Di Tang spins, whirls and rolls on the ground while executing kicks, strikes and locks. Like Drunken Fist it was more of a adjunctive training but the style of Di Tang is a distillation of specifically ground boxing techniques. Many applications are shown
with the main theme of striking from the ground. Form broken down
and demonstrated .
