Tai Tzu Chang Chuan

Taizu Fist is considered by some to be one of 18 Shaolin Fist Families. It's the 1st family among 18. Tai Tzu of this style was believed to have 16 sections most of which have been lost. Six are said to remain. Tai Tzu is particularly difficult to document since it was invented by martial enthusiast, Sung Tai Tzu. As this was the first emperor of the Song dynasty many claim to have retained the form. There are, therefore, different Tai Tzu Chang Chuan sets among the many styles. Historically Shaolin might indeed have claim to one of the more accurate versions. Tai Tzu was one of the first forms to distinguish itself as a separate style about 1000 years ago. There has been recent specualtion that Tai Tzu may be one of T'ai Chi's ancestors or inspirations.
