First,
be advised that all of these VCD's are IN
CHINESE ONLY. In our opinion that doesn't matter much
because the instruction is clear and the quality of photography
very good. But we will not accept returns just because people didn't
read... IN
CHINESE ONLY. Given
that, these are really tremendous deals for the money. Each of these
special VCD's can be played on a computer for full enjoyment. Made
for PC's they are also Mac compatible by downloading Quicktime (for
free) and any similar VCD player program. Also playable on most
DVD players. For less than $10.00? Wow!
SHUAI
JIAO & CHIN NAH
Demonstrators:
Most VCDS (numbers 141 through 250) by Chinese National Wrestling
coach Li Bao-Ru.
Much
interest has been generated lately on the subject of Chinese wrestling.
Predecessor to Judo, infused with Mongolian as well as Chinese martial
history and technique, Shuai Jiao is an ancient martial practice.
These VCD's shows the basic exercises of Shuai Jiao with an emphasis
on the angles and coordinated movements necessary to improving skill.
Most of the work is single person with the instructor showing each
motion. A presentation of necessary fundamentals. Here is a good
series of VCDs with some outstanding exercise sections.

Hands #1 About 1 Hour, VCD pricing, Chinese /English
Ma
Lei's very clear expanations. Also not just single moves but combinations.
Break holds in the second part. This is from a style we were privledged
to study known as the 72 Hands or, in this case, 72 Na. Of course
ANY Chin Na demonstration will be mechanical looking for two reasons:
first you could only see the move if it's broken down, which is
not the way it is applied. Then there are so many variants: angle,
twist, grip each application would take four hours to show at least.
But here's some one very familiar with the art showing clean examples
of his work.
