First,
be advised that all of these VCD's are IN
CHINESE ONLY. In our opinion
that doesn't matter much because the instruction is clear and the
quality of photography very good. But we will not accept returns
just because people didn't read... IN CHINESE ONLY. Given that, these are really tremendous
deals for the money. Each of these special VCD's can be played on
a computer for full enjoyment. Made for PC's they are also Mac compatible
by downloading Quick time (for free) and any similar VCD player
program. Also playable on most DVD players. For less than $10.00?

CHANG
Family Style BOXING
Demonstrator/Teacher:
Liu Yi Ming.
This
form of Kung Fu is said to have been created by Chang Nai Chou who
learned from Rang Dao of Sz Chuan. It is an unusual Long Fist with
flowing but seemingly awkward movements at times (not at all a bad
sign by itself). It definitely stresses a harmony between internal
and external with many movements similar to Tai Chi. Sets are intricate,
fluid and changeable. Movements are loose, long and soft. A little
bit magical. Professor Doug Wiley has brought forth evidence that
Chang's work may have been seminal to the creation or evolution
of Chen Tai Chi. See our info box on the subject of Chang
Family Boxing. Also see our newest book translating the writings
of this famous Scholar
Boxer.

Maces exemplify the changeable postures of bowing, leaning upward,
opening, closing, moving upward and downward. The techniques are
chopping, shouldering, rolling, pressing, holding, turning, raising
with straight arms, thrusting, sweeping, sliding, sticking and taking
off. We are somewhat unsure as the to meaning of "mace"
as rod or short sword may be a better description. Nonetheless an
interesting and fluid set. A
