VCD#1439 BaJi style BaJiThis is a Quadruple VCD, See Main VCD page for prices, CHINESE ONLY This series contains a sort of lecture, demonstration shown by generation inheritor, Wu LianZhi, of the Wu branch of Kai Men Baji. If you have ANY Chinese or just an intuitive grasp there is much in this series for the Baji lover. Wu basically gives a very long (at least 50% of the series) chalk talk with illustrations not only of movements but forms. Among topics discussed are Liu Da Kai (Six Big Openings), Ba Da Zhao (Eight Big Lures), Xiao Baji and DaBaji. Mostly discussion and some of it technical but worth the effort. There are numerous demonstrations of usage from free hands and also the duet set. Four VCDs. |

VCD#1444 BaJi style Sz Lang This is a Double VCD, See Main VCD page for prices, CHINESE ONLY Sz Lang Baji is a major component of some branches of the Baji style. Here Wu Lian Zhi gives another chalk talk illustrated technical and strategic points of his understanding of Baji with examples and a bit of dissection of the Sz Lang form. This is one of the more sophisticated Baji forms.More discussion and much of it technical. Si (or Sz) Lang Kuan is a confusing name and some say the "Kuan" refers to the widening aspects of the set just as a lesser known set, Sz Lang Ti, is said to have "lifting" energies. Sz Lang Kuan is considered an advanced form for Baji and is said to have a very rich content and much pracical application. The boxing saying goes, "If you master Si Lang Kuan, you can beat half of those under Heaven." This is not considered a beginner's set in the Baji sect. Double VCD. |

Here is a demonstration of one of the core BaJi sets. Small BaJi is also called BaJi Jia and gives the "frame" for this great system. A must for BaJi students. |
||
There are a few famous weapon in the Baji style. This sword shows the style and maintains the flavor of this branch of BaJi. |
||
This is an interesting tape, definitely developed by someone other than the rest of our BaJi VCD's. This demonstrator is more like a contemporary Wushu BaJi champion. But, due to the fact it's BaJi - one of China's most powerful and direct systems- his BaJi is not very "spruced up" and retains many elements of acceptable BaJi. His form is good. He is young and powerful. And the overall presentation is quite well done with nice production and clear movement. He's a handsome, talented performer and the BaJi form is worth a look. |

BaJi is a style where touch is very important. Its explosive force comes in part from a loose body then an explosive expulsion of energy. Here are a group of BaJi Partner Practices to aquaint the student with BaJi's particular methods. |

BaJi spear once again shows the nature of this famous style of boxing. As always spear and straight sword constitute almost indispensible additions for the training student. |
||
BaJi demonstrated with special emphasis on usage and applications against student wearing protective equipment. Usage is authentic emphasizing the peculiar qualities of this very powerful Kung Fu style. Counters for punches, grabs, locks and other attacks. Toward the end of the VCD the teacher designates points.

This is one of the more advanced sets of this BaJi Branch. The name is a mystery. It can mean "Fourth Son-in-Law Kuan" or "Si Lang Expanse" and concentrates on small, powerful movements intermixed with fluid motions. Many of the major movements of BaJi are represented by the form is more complex and challenging. |

This is a good, refined stick. It does two things very well. It retains the simplicity and directness of BaJi. It also goes through a surprising amount of different stick rolls. Generally staff sets are centered around a theme roll. This set acts as introductory to many such rolls and, at the same time, has lines of practice. |
||
There are many saber set in the art of Kung Fu. This one has much of BaJi's simplificity and directness. It could work as either a saber or a stick sets.Movements are clear and organic. Not so much a demonstration set as a saber consistent with BaJi's characteristics. |
